Roots

This project explores the creation of a distinctive and iconic hot sauce brand that challenges conventional category norms. Moving beyond typical visual tropes, the aim was to develop a brand that stands out through a strong concept, cohesive identity, and thoughtful application across packaging and touchpoints, while experimenting with new design strategies. Roots is a concept-driven brand that celebrates the connection between food, culture, and storytelling. Inspired by heritage and global cuisine, each flavour represents a unique cultural narrative, blending tradition with a contemporary perspective. Through a refined visual system, combining expressive typography, earthy colour palettes, and illustrations influenced by root structures and ancient markings, the brand creates a meaningful and engaging experience that connects people through food.
